The accounts committees

The Public Accounts Committee is set up under Standing Order 205. It has a chairperson and up to sixteen other members and examines the accounts showing the appropriations of the sum voted by the House 1. The Public Investments Committee, under Standing Order 206, examines the working of the public investments 2.

Parliament lists these under Audit, Appropriations and General Purpose Committees. The list includes the Special Funds Account Committee, the Decentralized Funds Accounts Committee and three Public Investments Committees split by sector 2. The Public Accounts Committee page names Hon. Mwale Nicholas Scott Tindi as chairperson and Hon. Kuno, Amina Udgoon Siyad as vice chairperson 3.

Reports

The Public Accounts Committee page lists its reports. Recent entries include a report on procurement of external audit services for the Office of the Auditor General, uploaded in August 2026, and a report on the financial statements of national government ministries, departments and agencies for FY 2021/2022, uploaded in June 2025 3. How follow-up is reported

Kenya's Committee on Implementation lists reports on the implementation status of inquiries, petitions and resolutions, and on the implementation status of House resolutions on committee reports 4.

In March 2023 the Assembly amended its Standing Orders so Cabinet Secretaries answer questions in plenary on Wednesdays from 2:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. Parliament said the changes cut the time to answer a question from 30 days to 14 days, and for urgent questions from three days to 48 hours. Standing Order 42(c) requires a Cabinet Secretary to provide physical and electronic copies of a reply at least a day before appearing 5.

This site has not confirmed from the Standing Orders text a fixed deadline for the executive's written reply to a committee report, as of 22 October 2026.
